We’re excited to announce that we’ll be hosting our first gaming tournament in partnership with Community Gaming! This will be a 4-week tournament, with $1000 in MYST up for grabs each week.
The first series begins tomorrow, Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 8:00 pm EST with a round of Call of Duty: Mobile.
Twenty-five teams/squads will compete in four CodM Battle Royale (BR) style matches for a prize pool of $1000 MYST. First place will receive $400 MYST, second place $200 MYST, third and fourth place will receive $100 MYST each, and fifth through eighth place will receive $50 MYST each.
In addition, three (3) participants will be chosen each tournament, at random, to win $50 in MYST, amounting to approximately six months of free access to Mysterium VPN.

How to compete
In order to compete, team captains need first to create an account and then a team on Community Gaming before registering for the tournament. Then you need to join Community Gaming’s #mobile-gaming channel, where the games will be coordinated.
Lastly, make sure to add your ID/nickname within the username game in the ‘Platform Links’ tab under your account settings. This will make your experience that much easier when challenging opponents on game day.
Some important event rules to keep in mind are:
No third-party software/hardware will be allowed, and users found or suspected of using such scripts will be disqualified;
No teaming up in-game with players outside of your squad. A maximum of two squads per clan can compete in an event.
If a registered and confirmed team is unable to participate, they must notify Naked eSports staff before the event begins. Any player who uses streamer mode will be kicked from the room.

Who is Community Gaming?
Our partner in this tournament, Community Gaming, is an all-in-one platform combining social gaming, match automation, and blockchain payments to provide a seamless experience for both tournament organisers, players, and game developers to host and participate in tournaments.
Easy Onboarding - Account creation is fast and straightforward! Just confirm your email address to get your wallet set up (or connect your own).
Match Reporting - Use the self-reporting bracket feature to keep your tournament moving! For API-supported games, match results will automatically be entered into the bracket.
Instant Payments - Take advantage of our automated payment technology to have your players paid out instantly and transparently. No more wait times or high fees!
One of the benefits of playing in tournaments hosted by Community Gaming is that the platform offers many different ways to both players and organizers alike to earn money fast and with no prior blockchain knowledge required. This is mainly due to their usage of a blockchain-based smart contracts payment system that automatically pays out to linked player wallets.
Players can earn money on Community Gaming by other means than just competing in tournaments, such as hosting their own events, maintaining high performance on leaderboards, and participating in weekly quests.
Community Gaming also simplifies organising an event through easy customisations from the tournament format, currencies used, and prize pool payout structure. Creating a tournament is very easy and requires no blockchain knowledge to take advantage of the platform’s autopay technology. In addition, Community Gaming provides extra incentives to ‘Organisers’ through Organiser Fees, Grants, and monthly leaderboard payments.
Online Gaming and Blockchain Technology
The synergy between the crypto world and online gaming has increased over the last couple of years due to blockchain technology allowing the gaming industry a safe and easy medium to manage money and payments. In October 2021, more than 1 million digital wallets connected to decentralised gaming applications, amounting to over 50% of the blockchain industry’s overall activity!
It’s reported that 55% of millennial video gamers own cryptocurrency, and 75% of all online gamers want to exchange their virtual assets for a currency they can use for transactions on other platforms.
By allowing players and tournament organising platforms to collect and trade in digital assets, cryptocurrency answers these rising needs in the online gaming community.
Some of the top benefits of embracing blockchain, crypto, and NFTs for online gaming is:
Eliminating Exchange Rates and Hidden Fees - There are no hidden handling fees, waiting for money to move from account to account, or forever changing exchange rates to worry about. Because it's a peer-to-peer transaction system, blockchain technology allows for easier transactions and a more profitable experience for players and developers.
Ability to Play Anywhere Regardless of Location - Because exchange rates are no longer a concern, players can play from anywhere worldwide.
Increased Anonymity and Protection - Payment in cryptocurrency allows for increased security and personal anonymity. For example, players can now play and receive payment without having to validate their identification or email address unless a user willingly shares their personal information.
Safety and Trust - Blockchain, by its nature, prohibits any unlawful and fraudulent digital asset management and transactions.
Case Study: Axie Infinity
One example of the beneficial symbiotic relationship between blockchain and cryptocurrency is the NFT-based online video game Axie Infinity. Recently with the introduction of its new AXS staking feature, an additional passive income layer to the game, in September 2021, Axie’s on-chain activity has grown 27% over the last couple of months. With over 2 million daily active users, Axie Infinity generated almost $485 million in NFTS in October 2021 and currently represents 17% of the NFT market cap.
Axie’s success story and continued growth show the growing relationship between blockchain and crypto and online gaming. It may seem to be a technical relationship but is no doubt beneficial for both players and developers.
On the one hand, players can enjoy hassle-free gaming experiences while developers enjoy increased profits and activity.
Incorporating blockchain technology with online gaming has facilitated new opportunities for applications and developers alike. And it still is in its early stages.
